The MFF Farrier Team
All members of our team maintain membership in the American Farrier’s Association and the Land of Lincoln Horseshoers’ Association and actively pursue continuing education opportunities through these and other affiliations.
- Steve Sermersheim, CJF, RJF
A lifelong horseman, Steve graduated from Michigan State Horseshoeing School in 1989. Steve currently serves as a member of the AFA’s Cultural Exchange Committee. Having achieved the highest level of certification within the American Farrier’s Association, Steve continues to pursue continuing education opportunities and is currently working on his Therapeutic Endorsement through the AFA.
- Brian Beasley
Beasley holds a B.S. degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois, where he is completing his second year of veterinary study. Beasley began working with MFF in 2002 and has been a mainstay of our practice throughout that time.
- Mike "Brownie" Maron, CF
A 2002 graduate of Oklahoma Horseshoeing School, Brownie holds a B.S. degree in Ag-AFA from Murray State University. Working with MFF since 2005, he recently completed his CF exams through the American Farrier’s Association. Brownie and his wife, Brandy, raise AQHA registered horses.
- Chris Sparks, CJF
An AFA CJF and a graduate of Kentucky Horseshoeing School, Chris has been shoeing horses for more than 15 years. Chris has trained and worked with a number of the top farriers in the US and was one of the primary farriers heading up the AFA’s Disaster Relief Effort during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
